eXplore Bellevue

Bellevue, WA Community

Get ready to experience the magic of movies under the stars once again! Bellevue’s beloved Summer Movies in the Park is back for 2025, promising fun-filled evenings of cinema, community, and outdoor entertainment. This free event is a fantastic way for residents to enjoy the warm summer nights with family and friends at two of Bellevue’s favorite outdoor venues: Downtown Park and Crossroads Park.

Event Dates and Locations

The series runs from July 15 to August 19 at Downtown Park on Tuesday evenings and from July 31 to August 21 at Crossroads Park on Thursday evenings. Both locations open their gates at 7 pm with lively pre-movie entertainment, including performances by local musicians, interactive entertainers, and vendor booths offering snacks, crafts, and more.

What to Expect: Entertainment and Amenities

Movie nights start at dusk with films projected on impressive 40-foot movie screens, creating a true outdoor theater experience. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot on the lawn and to enjoy the pre-show festivities. It’s recommended to bring blankets or lawn chairs and pack picnic dinners or snacks to maximize comfort and enjoyment during the screenings.

All movies featured in the series are rated PG, making this event perfect for families with children of all ages. The combination of fresh air, great company, and entertaining films makes Summer Movies in the Park a cherished seasonal tradition for many Bellevue residents.

Downtown Park’s Themed Tuesdays

The Downtown Park screenings begin on July 15 with a special event called Island Vibes Night, featuring the highly anticipated Moana 2. This night also supports the local charity Eat Happy Now, adding a meaningful community aspect to the festivities.

On July 29, the park transforms for Holidays in July, where attendees can enjoy How The Grinch Stole Christmas and contribute to Treehouse, a charity focused on supporting children in need.

The series wraps up on August 5 with a Car Show Night alongside the screening of Cars. This evening benefits Auto Angels, a charity dedicated to helping those in automotive-related distress. These themed nights provide a festive atmosphere with activities beyond just the movies, inviting guests to engage and support local causes.

Crossroads Park’s Thursday Lineup

Over at Crossroads Park, Thursday evenings kick off on July 31 with the inspiring winter sports comedy Cool Runnings. This feel-good film sets the tone for a series that continues on August 7 with the animated classic An American Tail, followed by the fantasy musical Wicked on August 14.

The series concludes on August 21 with the family-friendly adventure The Wild Robot. Thanks to sponsorship from the Crossroads Bellevue Shopping Center, these screenings showcase the strong support of local businesses in fostering community engagement.

Important Notes for Attendees

Moviegoers should be aware that all events are weather-dependent. In the event of rain, screenings will be canceled for safety reasons. Additionally, film titles and schedules may be subject to change without prior notice, so it’s recommended to check the official Summer Movies in the Park website or Bellevue’s community calendar for updates.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the tradition, Summer Movies in the Park offers a perfect blend of entertainment, community spirit, and outdoor fun. Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and enjoy unforgettable summer evenings with Bellevue’s vibrant community.
