eXplore Bellevue

Bellevue, WA Community

As the summer sun sets and patriotic spirit rises, Bellevue is gearing up for one of the most anticipated events of the season—the Bellevue Family 4th. Now celebrating its 32nd year, this free, family-friendly celebration has grown into the Eastside’s premier Independence Day destination, drawing thousands to Downtown Bellevue for a night of music, food, and fireworks.

A Community Tradition Three Decades Strong

Organized by the Bellevue Downtown Association (BDA) and powered by local sponsors, the Bellevue Family 4th has come a long way since its humble beginnings. What started as a small community picnic has blossomed into a full-fledged summer festival that captures the essence of Bellevue’s community spirit.

“The Bellevue Family 4th is about more than fireworks—it’s about gathering together to celebrate freedom, family, and the strength of our community,” says BDA Executive Director.

Event Details & Location

  • Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024

  • Time: Activities begin at 5:00 PM

  • Location: Bellevue Downtown Park (10201 NE 4th Street)

Set against the backdrop of the park’s iconic waterfall feature, the event takes advantage of lush lawns, scenic walking paths, and a central location that’s easily accessible by public transit, car, or bike.

Live Music & Main Stage Entertainment

From the moment the event kicks off, the main stage comes alive with a diverse mix of live musical performances, featuring beloved local bands and rising Eastside talent. Whether you’re swaying to classic rock, jazz, or patriotic anthems, the music creates an uplifting soundtrack for your summer evening.

Bring your blanket or lawn chair and settle in for hours of entertainment that lead up to the night’s grand finale.

Food Trucks Galore

Whether you’re feeding a picky toddler or sampling something new, there’s something for every palate.

The Main Event: Fireworks at Dusk

As the sun sets and anticipation builds, all eyes will turn to the sky for Bellevue’s signature fireworks show. This professionally choreographed display of lights and color has become legendary throughout the region for its scale, creativity, and beauty.

Set to patriotic music, the fireworks are visible from all corners of the park and make a dazzling conclusion to a perfect evening.
